The project

Maintaining a golf course requires a lot of work and is not easy, it can be difficult to keep an overview of such a large area.

As a team of golf enthusiasts, Ingenium Golf wanted to help make managing a golf course more manageable, and that is how the idea for the Greenkeeper App originated.

Using the map component from one of their other products, they provide greenkeepers with an interactive tool to log information about the golf course’s technology, enabling them to record issues and pinpoint their exact location, making their work more efficient.

My contribution

As a golf enthusiast myself, I was lucky to work on this app, and potentially contribute with improvements to a sport I enjoy so much.

My role was a full-stack developer, working mostly with the frontend. I worked with React Native, utilizing Redux for state management, while also contributing to the backend using GraphQL, JavaScript, and relational databases.

Aside from the interactive map, most of the frontend required a complete overhaul. I was actively involved in the design process and independently implemented the new interface. Additionally, I addressed various issues with the map, such as layering and coloring problems, and introduced new features to enhance functionality.

This work was initially part of my 10-week internship, which was later extended for an additional 10 weeks as part of my Bachelor’s project.

Booking project

The project

During my Bachelor's in Web Development, my group and I often struggled to find available study rooms since they were almost always occupied when we needed them.

So, when we got an assignment to develop a booking solution, we saw the perfect chance to tackle this problem. Our idea was to create a booking system integrated into the school's website, allowing students to reserve a room or at least check if one was available.

My contribution

Since this was a group project, we each focused on different aspects of the development. My main contribution was creating an interactive floor plan of the school, which used color coding to indicate room availability for a selected time span. Clicking on a room provided details, including existing bookings for the chosen day, and if it was available, students could book it.

I also took the lead on developing most of the backend API, as I had the strongest understanding of it. The original project was built using PHP and JavaScript, but I later recreated it in React TypeScript and the Java framework Spring Boot to align with more widely used industry technologies.

Bonus video: Gamification

UX Design - Video Editing - Presentation - Personality

The project

Doing my 2. semester of my Multimedia Design education, we were tasked to make a video, where we should present a topic. The topic I chose was Gamification, which is using video game elements in your products to keep the user engaged.

This video took a little less than a week to make and got a lot of praise from my classmates as well as my teacher, who all found the video entertaining and funny. So, the video has made it into my portfolio, since it shows a bit of my personality, humour, and my skills as a presenter and video editor.
The video is in danish, but might still be worth a watch if you do not understand danish.

Enjoy.

About Me

Description

I have always been interested in the digital world, and the endless ways to make everyday life easier and more entertaining.

First, I tried my hands on the art of graphic design, but those hands were not cooperating.
Then I wanted to develop my interest in UX design by taking the Multimedia Design education, which worked better for me, but I also realized how much I enjoy coding.
So I followed it up with a bachelor in Web Development, and it felt right, because I love bringing ideas to life.

The more I learn, the more I want to know, as I realize just how much more I have yet to learn.
That realization have now led me to start a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Technology.
Because I love diving into topics, and try to understand what happens behind the scenes. I learn the best when I can draw from the experiences of others and try it out myself.
For the same reasons, I love to share my knowledge with others, when working in a team.

I am a detail-oriented and dedicated worker, with a good work ethic. If the solution is not smooth and intuitive it can be improved.
I am motivated by results and improvement, as well as a good relationship with my coworkers.
Always like to take part in social arrangment and short talks in the breaks.
If you want someone who is motivated, socialable and have his whole career ahead of him, let us get in touch.
